The Mexican Navy (Armada de México or SEMAR) is the naval branch of the Mexican military responsible for conducting naval operations. Its stated mission is "to use the naval force of the federation for the exterior defense, and to help with internal order".[2] The Navy consists of about 56,000 men and women plus reserves[3], over 189 ships, and about 130 aircraft.[4][5] The Navy maintains a constant modernization program in order to upgrade its response capability, although its programs are hindered by a lack of funding due to variable budgets and lack of continuity.

Given Mexico's large area of water (3,149,920 km2) and extensive coastline (11,122 km), the navy's duties are of great importance. Perhaps its most important on-going missions are the war on drugs and protecting PEMEX's oil wells in Campeche in the Gulf of Mexico. Another important task of the Mexican Navy is to help people in hurricane relief operations and other natural disasters."

I think, given the ineffective means of border control between our 2 countries, America can contract out it's border security to the Mexican Navy. By doing this we can relieve the completely useless Department of Homeland Security and their enormous budget from or countries faltering budgets, and outdated ways of doing business.

The security options this Navy is capable of, if properly invested in, will provide millions of jobs as well as quality of life increases on both sides of the borders and can fuel a completely new world economy. This economy will be protected not by profiteers and crooks, but patriotic, loyal veterans striving to see a better future for themselves and their families.

Below is a brief outline of what I feel would be a sustainable investment in our future as a world power and the futures of many of our family members and neighbors:

Revitalization of the Mexican Navy for our Shared Security

First Wave:
-Provide them with double the amount of current aircraft(130), ships(189), and pay for the infrastructure and training of double the enlisted men in the Mexican Navy (currently 56,000). We will utilize this dramatic increase in resources to fight crimes which are now occuring all across the southern border areas in both Mexico and America.

-Provide them with Anti-sub technologies to fight potential threats to our shared security which they do not currently have.

-Build a self sustaining Major Naval outlet close to the border (based off of our Carrier battle group stations such as we have within miles of the border).

-Provide the funding and technological resources to start up small land based training for future construction battalions along the border with the focus of all construction training on sustainability.

Second Wave

-Provide funding resources for the development of properties that will give all productive citizens of either government an opportunity to own their own productive asset.

-Provide examples of potentially profitable projects throughout the entire border area such as high speed rails, geothermal power generation technology, wind/solar power independance, water conservation, shipping canals and waterway development for commerce, and quality of life/social reform.

-Help build homes and communities of the highest quality available to ensure long term financial success and dramatic quality of life increases.

-Help transform lives of individuals from hopeless, wasted existances to happy, healthy, meanigful, thoughtful, and most importantly productive lives.
